Camp Treetown, located in downtown Ann Arbor is home to a variety of traditional and specialty camp programs. Campers can pursue their interests with new friends and learn new skills in an engaging environment. Each week campers have the opportunity to delve into the world of gymnastics or take a shot at trying basketball. Camp Treetown offers full-day camps for ages 5-17
A day camp counselor is responsible for supervising campers and ensuring their safety while providing a fun and engaging environment.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to create a memorable and enriching experience for campers.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
One (1) year experience in working with children is preferred.
Must demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm and dedication.
Must have experience working with youth in a group setting and creating and implementing lesson plans.
Additionally, this person should possess the skills necessary to provide safe, appropriate and fun activities.
Multilingual ability is preferred.
Supervision and Safety: Overseeing campers to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the day
Activity Planning and Leadership: Organizing and leading various activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and team games
Mentorship and Support: Acting as a positive role model, providing guidance, motivation, and support to campers
Communication: Keeping parents informed about their child's progress and addressing any concerns
Conflict Resolution: Managing conflicts and ensuring a harmonious camp environment
