The Kirk Family YMCA is looking for a self-motivated and mission-driven candidate to join our full-time Aquatics Staff.  
Job Description

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, communicates effectively and provides services in instructional areas of aquatic programs according to YMCA policies while maintaining a safe environment.  Assists in the development of policies, procedures, scheduling, and budgets. 

Qualifications
  • 2-year degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of aquatic experience required
  • Current lifeguard certification required; American Red Cross Lifeguard preferred
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor preferred
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Certified Pool Operator license preferred or obtained within six months of hire
  • Experience teaching swim lessons preferred
  • Water Fitness Instruction experience preferred, but not required.
Essential Functions
  1. Hires, trains, evaluates and monitors part-time staff.
  2. Responsible for making monthly lifeguard schedules.
  3. Coordinate Y-Splash program.
  4. Assist in the development of safety policies and procedures.
  5. Assist with budget development, preparation and administration.
  6. Promote and execute fundraising activities and events.
  7. Maintain pool water, systems and area.
  8. Order and maintain pool equipment and supplies.
  9. Assist in scheduling programs and pool usage.
  10. Fill in when needed for Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, and Water Aerobics.
  11. Prepare and order program supplies and materials.
  12. Assist in the development of new aquatic programs.
  13. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  14. Demonstrate strong customer service and hospitality skills.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
