Job Description

Do you have facilities and/or maintenance experience? Do you like working in the great outdoors? If so, please consider applying and joining our Camp Lowe team under the Montachusett Community Branch for the summer of 2025!

Under the supervision of the Camp Director and the Facilities Director, the Facilities Maintenance Staff Associate has direct responsibilities for the overall appearance and maintenance of the camp and grounds of Camp Lowe.

Location: Camp Lowe, 132 Fort Pond Inn Road, Lancaster MA 

Job Type: Summer Seasonal Part Time Hours--Camp season starts from June 30th, 2025 to August 29th, 2025. 


Shifts: Mondays - Fridays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and/or 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm

**Pre/Post Camp preparation and cleanup required-- All Staff Training on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 and other training dates TBD.

Pay: $16.00 per hour for new hires and $16.50 per hour for returning Camp Facilities Maintenance staff. Plus, access to YMCA facilities for all YMCA staff, Employee Assistance Program, & Sick Leave

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 year old
  • Must be able to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications within 30 days of hire
  • Able to tolerate working outdoors in all types of weather including hot, rainy, and/or windy days
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds, bend over, and walk & stand for long periods of time
Essential Functions
  • Perform daily cleaning assignments by following the scheduled plan for grounds, facilities and directives from the
  • Facilities Director and/or Camp Director.
  • Responds to verbal and written janitorial requests submitted by staff.
  • Follows risk management program to ensure safe practices are followed in handling chemicals and operation of equipment to ensure the safe use of facilities by campers and staff.
  • Know emergency procedures and assist/handle emergencies or special circumstances that may occur.
  • Maintain painted surfaces, repainting as necessary due to wear or damage.
  • Remove debris from parking areas, paths, and program areas.
  • Ensure that facility and grounds cleanliness is a high priority for camper satisfaction. To this end, perform custodial duties at necessary to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Facilties or Camp Director.
