School Age Program Supervisor

The School Age Program Supervisor position for the CCA YMCA is a full time, year round position. Applications MUST be able to travel between Cumberland, Atlantic, and Cape May Counties, sometimes daily. Applicants must understand this is a requirement of the position. Applicants must be 21 years of age upon hire and hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related field due to childcare licensing requirements. This position works in the Before and After School Care Program during the school year and Summer Camp during the summer months. 

The School Age Program Supervisor position oversees the Before and After and Camp staff which includes, but not limited to, scheduling of staff, 60 day and annual reviews, trainings, payroll, and other supervisory roles. This position may also be expected to cover a school or camp site as needed based on staffing.

Full time employment is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Full time staff receive vacation time, personal time, and earned sick leave as well as 8 major holidays that are paid days off. Medical and dental are offered upon the 1st day of the month following a successful 60 day Introductory Period. A full family membership to the CCA YMCA facility is also included as well as one free child in our Before and After or Camp Programs. POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Through the direction of the Director of School Age Programs, the School Age Supervisor develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA School Age Programs. This position oversees and maintains assigned school age locations which includes traveling to and from those designed sites.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent required.
2. Two years related experience working with children preferred i.e. a school age program and/or camp
3. Minimum age requirement of 21 years of age
4. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
5. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards such as fingerprinting within 30 days of hire and completion of YMCA program specific certifications within 60 days of hire
6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

8. Ability to travel to other locations within the program is required
9. Bi-lingual is preferred but not required

Essential Functions

1. Assists the Director in managing, directing and coordinating the school age child care programs for assigned location(s). Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
2. Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling and directing personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
3. Reviews, approves, and submits the lesson plans from their assigned coordinators to the Director in a timely manner.
4. Weekly pick up and drop off of site snack, paperwork, and needed items to each assigned site.
5. Assist the Director in ensuring that program fees are collected for their assigned sites.
6. Supervision of assigned staff in relation to performance, discipline, and evaluations.
7. Develops teamwork among staff and engages staff in their work at the Y.
8. Assists in addressing all staff and parent issues or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
9. Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
10. Ensures that upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living through weekly, written site evaluations.
11. Develops a professional working relationship and understands the school chain of command for each assigned site.
12. Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned as well as events within their assigned site as directed
13. Maintains proper records/department files.
14. Organizes special events for parents as directed.
15. Assists in the facilitation of monthly Team Leader and quarterly Staff meetings.
16. Performs School Age Care Environment Rating on school sites as needed.
17. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information including gathering pictures of program.
18. Recommends purchase of supplies for their assigned programs.
19. Works in conjunction with the Childcare Administrative Coordinator and Human Resources to ensure that their assigned staff have completed all required trainings.
20. Works in conjunction with the Financial Services Coordinator in relation to program subsidies
21. Works with the Site Coordinator to develop strategies for student behavioral challenges and communicates with the Director of School Age Programs the strategies put into place
22. Reviews timecards of assigned staff weekly and approves timecards bi-weekly in a timely manner. Communicates timecard concerns with Director of School Age Programs
23. Ensure that all assigned staff are adhering to all CCA YMCA, Department of Licensing, and Department of Health safety guidelines
24. Performs other duties as assigned.
