Job Description

The YMCA Arlington Tennis & Squash Center is excited to announce an amazing opportunity as the Membership Director to make a positive impact on individuals' lives by promoting their complete well-being and personal growth while also contributing to the success of the YMCA.  If your next career move includes leaving a legacy, then this is the role for you!

We are currently seeking someone with a proven track record in developing strategies related to grass-roots marketing, referrals, and membership retention as well as knowledge in the games of tennis, pickle ball, and squash. Your expertise and creativity in these areas will be instrumental in attracting new members and ensuring their long-term commitment.  This position reports directly to the Associate Executive Director.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • years of relevant membership, sales and service experience.
  • Experience implementing effective internal and external marketing plans.
  • Supervision and staff development experience.  Developing the skills of membership department team members, positioning each one for their next advancement opportunity within the YMCA movement.
Essential Functions

The Membership Director plays a key role in support of this work by leading the membership team in:

  • Directing the daily operation and ongoing administration of the member service department and key branch initiatives.
  • Leading and developing the member service team en route to achieving the branch’s monthly member acquisition and retention goals.
  • Providing outstanding customer service to all members, guests, staff, and the community at-large.
  • Welcoming individuals, families and groups to become new YMCA members.
  • Engaging new members in their opportunity to support the YMCA’s impactful programs and services, as a donor or volunteer, to strengthen the local community.
