Executive Director

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a personable Executive Director to lead the Haselwood YMCA in Silverdale, WA.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and, social responsibility. The Executive Director at Haselwood Family YMCA stewards the Y’s cause, promotes inclusivity, engagement and health and wellbeing in our communities.

As the Executive Director, you will influence and lead the operations of the Haselwood YMCA center including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations. In this leadership position, you will be able to use your passion to foster a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals and, strategies.

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human services, recreation management, non-profit management or equivalent.
  • Current or recent YMCA Executive Director experience highly preferred.
  • Six or more years of management experience, preferably with the YMCA or similar non-profit agency highly preferred.
  • Minimum of three years working in the health, fitness and wellness industry, overseeing a facility, operations or specific programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse and multi-cultural communities and constituencies.
  • Strategic planning experience, including developing and monitoring an annual operating plan.
  • Proven experience of leading operations, community engagement, fundraising, programming and leading staff required.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job. 
Essential Functions

The Executive Director will make an impact in the Y and our community through:

  •  Serving as an external ambassador of the Y, developing and maintaining strong community relationships to develop a large and active membership, support the community’s growth, and identify and engage key community leaders.
  • Developing and strengthening the center’s volunteer advisory council, committees and supporting community groups.
  •  Leading efforts to increase member engagement to ensure that a high performance, member-centric culture of service is in place; ensure employees are fully on-boarded and engaged to serve members and participants and meet or exceed growth and retention goals.
  • Providing leadership and dedication while championing the YMCA’s annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/board.
  • Developing, manage and monitor the Haselwood operating budget, strategic planning efforts and the annual operating plan.
  • Representing and promoting the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses and governmental entities.
  • Providing day-to-day leadership throughout the branch ensuring all member, volunteer, and staff needs are being met and that the YMCA assets are protected and in good working order at all times.
  • Ensuring high-quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff and volunteers.
  • Ensuring program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.

Required Certifications

Compensation: $98,000.00 to $108,000.00 per year, depending on qualifications (potential opportunity for moving expenses)
