Qualifications
  • Oversee day to day operations of Camp Lakewood including registration, staffing, programming, and the overall camper experience.
  • Partner with other departments to evaluate and improve programs to meet industry standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high quality team of seasonal and year round camp staff.
  • Manage all aspects of the Camp Lakewood budget including revenue, expenses, and staffing.
  • Assist with fundraising as assigned.
  • Ensure camper and parent satisfaction through strong communication and customer service.
  • Work alongside the Outdoor Education Director to communicate with groups and support programming during the shoulder seasons.
  • Keep campers, families, and alumni engaged throughout the year through events and other opportunities.
  • Set goals for enrollment, retention, satisfaction, and program growth.
  • Develop and maintain camp policies, procedures, and emergency plans to ensure safe and consistent operations. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 
Essential Functions
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Two plus years related experience preferred. 
  • Class E Driver’s License is preferred. 
  • CPR/FA/AED Certification required. 
  • Must hold HSI Instructor (Basic Life Support, Emergency Use of Medical Oxygen, Adult & Pediatric First Aid) certification and at least two of the following additional certifications, or be able to obtain within the first six months of employment: ACCT Level II, YMCA Lifeguard V7 Instructor, USA Archery Level 1 Instructor, or Range Safety Officer.
  • Must be 21 years of age. 
  • Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications. 
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
