As the staff leader of the Rock Island YMCA (located in a unique, shared-use facility alongside the Rock Island Public Library) the Branch Executive is the driving force behind our local impact. This dynamic leader will champion an exceptional membership experience and oversee high-quality programming across youth, sports, aquatics, wellness, and childcare. Beyond day-to-day operations like budget development, facility scheduling, and risk management, this role is a community catalyst. The Executive will actively guide community partnerships, empower and engage the branch advisory board, and spearhead localized fundraising efforts to fuel our mission. We need a proven leader fluent in YMCA best practices who is ready to take ownership and accelerate our growth.
Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
Three years of program-membership experience with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff.
Previous experience supervising minimum budget of $250,000 preferred.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Oral and written multilingual abilities preferred.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to calculate budgets and analyze financial statements and financial reports.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non-members of the YMCA or members of the business community.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Develop comprehensive annual program plans. Foster a climate of innovation in accordance with association strategic plans and the mission matrix.
Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate branch membership and program staff. Ensure facility is appropriately staffed during all open hours.
Lead and develop branch and department budgets.
Responsible for branch risk management program.
Collaborate with maintenance and administrative staff to provide high-quality facilities and equipment.
Serve on team of staff leadership that develops and implements annual marketing program, including high-quality membership engagement strategies.
Lead the branch board of advisors and annual campaign.
Maintain a professional image of the YMCA in the facility and community. Demonstrate excellent personal appearance standards and uphold similar standards for your staff.
Promote and incorporate the Y mission and four core values into all programs and events.

Emotional Maturity: Demonstrates ability to understand and manage emotions effectively in all situations.
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) from an accredited four-year college or university.
Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance.
Ability to obtain YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification within two years.
Ability to complete Bloodborne Pathogen, Harassment and CPR/AED certifications within 90-days of employment.
