Regional Aquatic Director

• Training, development, as well as oversight and supervision of aquatic delivery at the Delta Center and Dickinson Center.  Focus on safety, staff performance, and quality delivery of all aquatic instruction for both youth, adults, group classes, and outside groups.
• Develop an annual action plan on association-wide lifeguard and swim instructor certification training.
• Will provide direct leadership to the Delta Learn to Swim and Dickinson 3rd Grade Swim Lessons.  Ensures delivery at the respective pool and partnership with local school districts.  
• Create monthly and annual aquatic training schedules and for:
  • In-services
  • Dummy and red ball drop (i.e., live drills)
  • Emergency preparedness training and drills for all aquatic staff
• Provide leadership to Delta and Dickinson Center aquatic department in-services.  Create an annual schedule and ensure expected outcomes for each Center are unified and implemented during staff training each month. 
• Provide monthly input (more if required) to branch leadership on their pool evaluation results with recommended action plans for performance improvement.
• Help create community relationships with programs that can help promote aquatic safety.
• Ensure the Y stays in compliance with YUSA aquatic best practices.
• Fill in as lifeguard/swim instructor in emergency situations.
• Help with pool repairs and maintenance when needed and provide insight into various issues that arise to help fix programs.  

Program Development

• Youth Swim Lessons

• • Effectively supervise all staff and ensure requirements are met 
  • Evaluate classes, capacity, participant ability, and instructor quality.
  • Maintain the quality of equipment and toys used for classes.
  • Ensure that staff have accurate rosters and take attendance.
  • Ensure and assist staff completion of progress reports for each participant every session.

• Lifeguard Scheduling

• • Ensure all staff have appropriate and current certifications.
  • Clearly instruct staff in enforcement of pool rules and ensure they do so.

• CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Classes

• • Schedule training courses with the appropriate instructor.
  • Track registration and attendance.
  • Ensure an online link is sent to staff in an appropriate time frame.

• Private Lessons

• • Communicate private lesson requests and schedule with staff.
  • Ensure that staff have accurate rosters and take attendance.

• Building/Pool Rentals
  • Schedule all rentals according to hours available.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and activity goals are met.

Administration

• Ensure that all lifeguard and teaching hours are scheduled with well-trained staff.  If a lifeguard or teaching shift is unfilled, be prepared to fulfill the obligation.  
• Work with the supervisors to keep the pools and equipment in good working order.  Do monthly inspections of areas.
• Able to perform computer functions involving program registration, changes, printing rosters, and issuing refunds or credits.  

Risk Management

• Continue to provide a leadership role within the Risk Management Committee.
• Play a key role in training staff in CPR/First Aid.
• Help train designated staff in Emergency Action Plan for association.
• Annually review membership standards to ensure YUSA compliance.
• Responsible for reporting risk situations and providing leadership and follow-through with families, members, and participants on any incident that occurs in the aquatic department.
• Help to manage first aid supply orders if needed.
• Continue to look at aquatic-related safety tools, procedures, and equipment.
• Ensure respirator certification is renewed annually.
• Abide by all risk-related reporting and policy requirements for child abuse prevention.
