CHICAGO (March 17, 2026) - YMCA of the USA thanks Senators Dick Durbin and James Lankford, along with the bipartisan group of Senate sponsors, for leading the passage of a resolution honoring the YMCA’s 175 years of service to communities across the nation. We are grateful for their recognition of the Y’s enduring role in strengthening communities, supporting families, and creating welcoming spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, belong, and thrive.
We also appreciate Representatives Mike Quigley, Chuck Edwards, and Chris Pappas for introducing the companion resolution in the House of Representatives recognizing the YMCA’s legacy and ongoing impact in communities nationwide.
