Event expected to generate $6.6 Million in total economic impact
GREEN BAY, WI (October 20, 2026) — The YMCA National Gymnastics Championships and Invitational will return to the Rech Expo Center on June 27-July 1, 2027. More than 1,800 gymnasts from 80 YMCAs around the US will participate in the competition. Discover Green Bay, YMCA of Greater Green Bay and Fond du Lac Family YMCA will provide local support for this event.
In total, the 5-day event is expected to have an estimated total economic impact of $6.6 million on the Greater Green Bay area. In addition to the competitors, the event will also bring 200 coaches, 125 volunteers, and more than 2,500 spectators from across the country.
“The YMCA National Gymnastics Championship and Invitational is about more than what happens in the gym. It’s an opportunity for young athletes to build confidence, form friendships, and see their dedication pay off,” said Meredith Griffin, Director of Sports Strategy at Y-USA. “In 2027, we’re excited to bring the Y community together in Green Bay to celebrate our gymnasts’ achievements and the people who support them along the way. We’re grateful to Green Bay for welcoming our athletes and families and helping make this a memorable experience for everyone.”
During the event gymnasts will compete in balance beam, floor exercise, uneven bars, and vault. Though the competition will take place on the floor of the Resch Expo, the opening ceremony with a parade of athletes will be held at the Resch Center. In addition, the YMCA will honor athletes at the Senior Reception.
“We’re so incredibly grateful to the YMCA for entrusting the Green Bay Area to host one of their premier events,” said Brad Toll, President and CEO of Discover Green Bay. “It’s an honor to have the organization, their athletes and fans return to our community. We know our area will welcome them with open arms and the outstanding hospitality we are known for.”
The YMCA last held the National Gymnastics Championship and Invitational in Green Bay in 2025. The last event was also held at the Resch Complex.
