Job Description

The Bloomsburg Area YMCA is seeking an organized, compassionate leader to direct our Community Resource Hub, connecting individuals, families, and community partners with the services they need throughout Columbia and Montour Counties.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director leads daily Hub operations, develops community partnerships, coordinates referrals, and plans for continued program growth. The position combines participant resource navigation with department administration and emphasizes connecting people with appropriate providers, coordinating services, and providing follow-up within clear service boundaries.

The Director advances the YMCA’s commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility while demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, public health, community health, or a related field—or equivalent relevant experience—preferred.

At least two years of experience in social services, community resource navigation, or a related field preferred.

Experience in program coordination, community partnership development, or staff and volunteer leadership preferred.

Community Health Worker training or certification preferred.

Strong communication, active listening, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work respectfully with people experiencing hardship while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Ability to balance participant support with administrative responsibilities, reporting, and long-term planning.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; ability to learn referral and participant tracking systems.

Reliable transportation for local outreach and partner meetings.

Ability to meet YMCA background screening and training requirements.

Essential Functions

Lead daily Hub operations and establish department priorities and goals with the CEO.
Welcome participants, assess resource needs, and connect individuals and families with appropriate community providers.
Help participants navigate resources for housing, food, transportation, employment, healthcare, benefits, and other basic needs.
Coordinate referrals and appropriate follow-up, maintaining clear boundaries around the services the Hub can provide.
Build and maintain partnerships with Geisinger, social service agencies, schools, government agencies, churches, nonprofits, and other community organizations.

Maintain current resource information and strengthen referral pathways among community partners.

Coordinate computer and internet access, digital literacy support, educational activities, and onsite partner services.

Work with YMCA departments to help participants access membership, programs, and financial assistance when appropriate.

Maintain accurate, confidential participant records using Neighborly and other approved systems.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and funder-required reports; track service outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Support grant applications, donor updates, and presentations by providing program information and outcomes.

Work with the CEO and finance staff to develop and monitor the Hub’s budget and manage resources within approved limits.

Develop and maintain intake, referral, visitor access, confidentiality, and safety procedures.

Plan for future staffing and supervise staff, volunteers, or interns assigned to the Hub.

Contribute to planning for the Hub’s future space and operations within the YMCA’s capital expansion.

Complete required training and perform other related duties assigned by the CEO.

Required Certifications
