YMCA of Madurai
The YMCA of Madurai, founded in 1884, impacts the lives of more than 4,000 people in southern India, with a focus on programs for children who are hearing impaired and people who have cognitive disabilities. YMCA of Madurai also runs an orphanage, provides after-school tutoring, houses working women in safe and inexpensive lodging and offers rural development programs for women and small farmers. Additionally, the YMCA of Madurai organizes lectures and community campaigns to raise awareness about the negative impact of child labor and child trafficking.
