Stage 5 Stroke Development
School Age Swim Lessons
Stage 5 swim lessons for school age children at the YMCA focus on stroke development, improving front crawl (freestyle) and back crawl (backstroke) stamina, developing breaststroke and butterfly, and building endurance techniques for deep water safety such as treading water and sidestroke. See Swim Lessons for an overview of our Stages progression.
On or before 12/02/2018
Students in "Stage 5" work on stroke technique and learn all major competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safety from previous stages continues with a focus on treading water and sidestroke.
