YMCA Active Adults
Stage 1 swim lessons for preschoolers at the YMCA focus on water acclimation, increasing student's comfort with underwater exploration and introducing basic self-rescue skills. Instructors focus on helping students explore getting comfortable with movement in the water, developing basic skills to propel and glide, and teaching basic aquatic safety. FallProof is an eight-week program that is scientifically tested and shown to improve balance and mobility to reduce the risk of falls among older adults. FallProof has been recognized by the National Council on Aging as one of the most effective programs to promote healthy aging and improved quality of life.
