YMCA of the USA Names Cesar Silva as EVP/Chief Administration Officer

Veteran Nonprofit Professional Brings More Than 20 Years of YMCA Experience to Newly Created Role

CHICAGO (April 5, 2022) — YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), the national resource office for the 2,600 Ys across the country, has appointed Cesar Silva as Executive Vice President/Chief Administration Officer (CAO), a new position for the organization. In this role, Silva will oversee Y-USA’s Finance, Information Technology and Employee Benefits teams, ensuring strong integration of operational and administrative functions.

“With more than two decades of experience guiding and growing YMCAs, Cesar is the ideal leader for this new role,” said Suzanne McCormick, President and CEO, Y-USA. “He brings a deep understanding of YMCA operations and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering strong results. I’m thrilled to have him join my executive team.”

Silva’s career with the Y spans 22 years. He most recently was Executive VP/CAO for the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. He previously spent six years as Executive VP/Chief Financial Officer for the YMCA of Greater Houston and for 12 years held various operational and leadership roles with the Gateway Region YMCA in St. Louis. Silva began at the Rhea County Family YMCA in Tennessee.

“This role represents the perfect professional convergence for me, as it allows me to continue my YMCA journey, which has meant so much to me, while also presenting an opportunity to take on new challenges that come with helping lead the national office,” said Silva, who started April 1.

Cesar holds a bachelor’s degree from Bryan College in Tennessee and a master’s degree in business administration from Lindenwood University in Missouri.
