Spring Into Fitness

Kickstart your summer fitness goals! Join us in our Wellness Bingo challenge from April 1-30, and complete 5 challenges in a row to be entered into a drawing to win a free month of membership and some YMCA gear. Challenges include activities such as doing a cardio workout, taking a group exercise class, doing an outdoor activity, doing a strength workout and more!

How to play:

  • Grab a Bingo card from the Wellness Center or our Wellness Staff
  • Complete 5 challenges in a row to earn Bingo
  • Once you have Bingo, turn your card in to a YMCA staff member to be entered into the drawing

Exploring Together • April 26

Our monthly family programs are a great way to have fun at the Y together! Choose from Draft Class, DIY Club and Fun Science.  Please pre-register online or at the Welcome Center.

  • DIY Club: Friday, April 26 at 4pm: Meet in the Kids Clubhouse to make a kite! Ages 5-12.

Preschool With The YMCA

Developing Our Youth • Multiple Locations 

The most formative time in a child's development occurs within the first five years, which is why we put so much careful planning into our preschools and ensure our staff has a tremendous amount of experience, skill, and knowledge within the child care field.

While each child is unique and develops at his or her own rate, we also believe that they are strong, capable learners who learn best through social and environmental interactions. That's why our specialized preschool programs provide opportunities for young children to learn through play, both individually and in large (or small) groups, stimulating each child's development in a natural, home-like setting.

Our hope is that our preschools will feel like home to you and your children, filled with nurturing love and care.  We currently have spots open!

Safety Around Water

Strong Swimmers, Confident Kids • May

Join us in May for our Safety Around Water campaign — a month-long program dedicated to teaching your child critical drown-prevention skills. Find a branch near you for low- to no-cost lessons in the month of May. Space is limited. Registration closes April 26 — register online today! Swim safety is vitally important to fulfilling the Y’s mission and cause. Because we are devoted to the well-being of every person involved in Y programs, ensuring water safety is an important part of what we do every day. Equip your children with the tools they need to be confident in and around water so they don’t lose out on the health benefits of exercise, the opportunities to bond with family and friends and the sense of accomplishment when they learn new skills.

Adaptive Swim Lessons

Making A Difference • Multiple Days & Times Available

Partnering with Autism Speaks, our adaptive swim lesson sessions feature a 1:1 ratio for children ages 3 to 18. Lesson pricing may fluctuate based of number of lessons offered in month. Please Note: Must show IEP upon registration at Member Services Desk.

Adaptive Gymnastics Lessons

Making A Difference • Multiple Days & Times Available

We are able to offer this class at a low monthly price for kids with special needs. The class is designed to help children problem-solve through physical challenges such as climbing, sliding, balancing, swinging, and jumping. Children will have an opportunity to sing songs, and incorporate rhythm and music into their learning. We welcome students with all types of special needs, including but not limited to, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism spectrum.

Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons

Swim with Confidence • Mulitple days and times

Private swim lessons at the YMCA are a great way to improve swimming skills and water safety techniques of any level. With private one-on-one swim lessons, an instructor can spend more time with a student, helping overcome obstacles which may require more time or dedication than a standard swim lesson with multiple students could allow for. Semi-private swim lessons provide the option to learn with a friend while still enjoying the personalized attention and focus of a dedicated instructor.

Just Dance • Mulitple days and times

Our Toby Wells Y dance program includes fun, healthy and challenging classes from a wide range of dance styles. We offer youth classes providing a basic introduction to classical ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. The classes focus on having fun while learning dance terminology, dance etiquette, and technique.

The YMCA offers a variety of martial arts classes for different ages and skill levels. These classes are a great way to learn self-discipline, self-esteem, and respect.

Participants will learn how to safely maneuver over obstacles with speed and efficiency by turning and jumping!

No matter your child's age of interest, we have a fun and engaging program for it that focuses on teamwork, friendly competition, athletics and encouragement.

From preschool sports to youth volleyball clinics, from soccer to recreational basketball leagues, we have a program that can help your kids get in the game, break a sweat and learn something new!

Co-ed Flag Football League • Ages 4-17

Get on the field and join our 5 on 5 (no contact) flag football league! This recreational league is ideal for beginner to advanced skill levels. Teams are coached and supported by volunteers and YMCA staff with an emphasis on safe play, equal participation and sportsmanship. We work hard to make it a fun and exciting learning experience for all participants!

The YMCA of San Diego County is proud to celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day with a Day at the Bay. This yearly event brings together the Y's Active Adult senior community to participate in physical and social activities to enhance the spirit, mind and body. Join us for lunch and activities including: kayaking, paddle boarding, exercise classes, sailing, lawn games and more!
