We are able to do so with the donations to our Annual Support Campaign, an annual fundraising effort to provide scholarship, inclusion and subsidized programs to our growing communities. Saturday Afternoon Out

Get Things Done • March 16 • 2:30-5:00 pm

Parents, enjoy the afternoon and check off your to-do lists while your children have the time of their lives in a safe and fun environment with caring staff. Children will enjoy a fun afternoon filled with games, crafts, and a movie! Please send a healthy lunch with your child. For ages 3-12 and must be potty trained. Register at the Welcome Center.

Parents Night Out

Fun For All • March 29 • 5:30-9:00 pm

Parents Night Out gives you the opportunity to enjoy an evening out while the kids have fun at the Y! Each night includes a fun theme with related games, arts & crafts, and healthy snacks for the kids. For ages 3-12 and must be potty trained. Register at the Welcome Center.

Spring Break Camp

Best Spring Ever! • March 25-29

Take adventures to the next level this summer! Build self-confidence, meet new friends and have a blast while exploring San Diego. Get a thrill from activities at the camp facility such as sports clinics, science experiments or arts and crafts, while exploring weekly themes. As if this isn’t enough, take trips to different amazing locations, and bring home stories to share. 

Intercession Day Camp

Best Spring Ever! • April 1-23

Does your child’s holiday school schedule not match your schedule? We’re here to help! We offer intersession camp for children ages 5-12 when the San Diego Unified School District is out of session. Campers, ages 5-6, will enjoy traditional camp activities such as arts and crafts, songs, sports instruction and swim time. Campers ages 7-12 will enjoy field trips, sports instruction, swim time and more!

Water Acclimation Swim Lessons

Swim With Confidence • Saturdays

Water acclimation classes increase students' comfort with underwater exploration and introduce basic self-rescue skills. Instructors focus on helping students explore getting comfortable with movement in the water, developing basic skills to propel and glide, and teaching basic aquatic safety.

Learn Respect • Tuesdays & Fridays 

The YMCA offers a variety of martial arts classes for different ages and skill levels. These classes are a great way to learn self-discipline, self-esteem, and respect.

  • Beginner: 6-7pm, Ages 5-12
  • Intermediate: 7-8pm, Ages 6-12
  • Advanced: 8-9pm, Ages 7-12

Youth Dance Classes

Dance to the Beat • Multiple days and times available

Our youth dance classes are fun, healthy and challenging, and come in a wide range of dance types. For example, basic introduction to classical ballet and tap focuses on having fun while learning terms, feet and arm placement, dance etiquette and technique, while high energy boys and girls will have a blast learning hip hop basics and introductory break dance moves to today's popular music in a fun, age-appropriate class. Choose from a variety of dance classes, including ballet and tap, hip hop, tumbling and more!

The Basketball Academy will introduce players to the basic fundamentals of basketball. Players will go over passing, shooting, dribbling, and defense. Throughout this program, there will be both individual and team building drills.

Adult Co-Ed Soccer

For the Love of the Game • February 1-March 22

Looking for a fun way to stay fit? Love to play soccer? Then grab a friend and join us under the lights for co-ed adult soccer for players ages 18+! There will be 8 weeks of recreational play and a referee for each game. Shin guards are required, and cleats are recommended.

LiveSTRONG at the YMCA

Healing the Whole Person • Monday and Wednesdays • February 4-April 24 • 12:00-1:15pm

Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. Tour includes highlights such as the press box, major league dugout and the new Padres Hall of Fame and museum. The crown jewel of Downtown San Diego, Petco Park serves up baseball Southern California style. Tours run approximately 80 minutes and include 1.5 miles of walking.

San Diego Zoo Walk
2:00 pm • March 5

Join YAA at the San Diego Zoo for a moderate paced walk along the paved paths! This activity is free for Zoo members, or pay the Zoo entrance fee.

Walk Lake Murray

Come out for a 6.5 mile walk around Lake Murray.

YAA Annual Campaign Workout Party

Grab a few friends and head to the Y to celebrate our 175th Anniversary and support a wonderful cause at our Annual Work Out Party! Get ready for two hours of groovin’ and movin’, as our instructors Kerry and Maria lead you through a multitude of workouts, including Forever Fit, Zumba Gold, and Chair Yoga, designed to get your blood pumping and your heart moving!

New Cardio Equipment • April 3-5

The cardio room will be closed April 3-5 for new equipment installation. The patio will remain open and limited group exercise classes will be available. Access to other YMCA locations is also available.
