MORE THAN a youth in foster care.
MORE THAN a statistic.
MORE THAN a label.
This is a unique opportunity for youth to freely share their talents, emotions, cultures, identities, and life stories through art in the presence of supportive connections. Youth are excited to showcase their art in the forms of dance, film, literature, music, photography and visual arts.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and live performances will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Join us for an evening of artistic expression and leave with so much more.
ABOUT PERMANENT CONNECTIONS
Permanent Connections helps families establish a lifetime network of support for children and youth who are disconnected from their biological family. Through a variety of services we:
- Support youth in developing a healthy sense of identity and maintaining connections to important aspects of their culture and community;
- Enable young adults emerging from care to live safely and productively within their communities
- Increase connectedness, decrease dependence on the formal service system and enhance family-driven decision making.
HOW TO ENTER
Contact your Family Engagement Specialist if you would like to enter a submission.
There are six arts categories—dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. There are four presentation divisions— live feature entries, live entries on the gallery floor, exhibit entries throughout the gallery, and printed entries in event publication. See the descriptions for requirements.
By submitting artwork to the Permanent Connections Review Team, youth accept and agree to be bound by the official rules for participation as well as the entry requirements for their specific art categories and divisions.
To get started, download and fill out the Showcase Entry Application, Consent and Permissions Form, and the Transportation Acknowledgement. Submit artwork and forms in person or email to the Permanent Connections program at [email protected]
