The Newport County YMCA gymnastics program is looking for committed and enthusiastic Gymnastics Director to join our team! 
Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, through supervision of all aspects of the Newport County Gymnastics Program. Come join a great team of Directors at the Newport County YMCA.  Our Y is undergoing a 14.5-million-dollar expansion/renovation. The gymnastics center had a 1.2-million-dollar renovation in 2019. We are looking for the right person to take our program to the next level. 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

At least 5 years of gymnastics management/operational experience.

Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications (Team leader, etc…)

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.

Essential Functions

1.    Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.

2.    Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

3.    Holds monthly or bi-monthly meetings to ensure communication between staff.

4.    Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. (CFP, Little Compton)

5.    Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.

6.    Coordinates and maintains the billing system for the department and keeps all participants up to date.

7.    Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.

8.    Keeps the gym clean and safe for participants, and communicates to the maintenance staff when there is anything that needs improvements.

9.    Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.

10.  Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.

11.  Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.

12.  Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.

13.  Assists with Program Staff meetings, trainings, and evaluations.

14.  Coordinates the Gymnastics Team Booster Club

15.  Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
in program.

16.  Other duties may apply as the program grows.

Required Certifications
