Job Description

The Los Altos Family YMCA is looking for a full-time Sports & Outreach Program Coordinator who is dynamic and can inspire staff to deliver excellent customer service to all members, guests, and program participants and keep safety a top priority.  Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, Sports Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and providing leadership to the sports & outreach. In addition, Sports & Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, administration, implementation and ongoing evaluation of all related programs.

Qualifications
  1. 2 years experience in related field required.
  2. Experience in program leadership and staff supervision preferred.
  3. Experience in sales/marketing, membership retention, program leadership and staff supervision preferred
  4. Ability to handle multiple assignments, organizational skills, basic PC and typing skills required.
  5. Additional Requirements: Criminal Clearance: Including Fingerprints and background clearance
  6. Health Screening with Negative TB Test and Negative Drug test screening.
  7. Complete all required online training(s).
Essential Functions
  • Manage all functions of Youth Sports, P.L.A.Y. PE, and Playground Partners programs including but not limited to: marketing, scheduling of facilities, invoicing, registration, and planning and implementation of youth sports and Playground Partners activities.
  • Develop Y Sports League and continue to grow youth sports programming such as Lacrosse, Flag Football, Soccer, Tee Ball and basketball.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises and appraises required staff for Youth Sports and PE Programs and assists all staff in meeting their developmental needs.
  • Recruit, train, process and supervise all Youth Sports and PE program volunteers. Recruit volunteers for all youth sports coaching positions.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations of all Youth Sports and PE Program staff.
  • Foster staff motivation, recognition, and teamwork.
  • Responsible for the development and control of department budget.
  • Serve as a staff liaison in the Teams Division of the Annual Support Campaign.
  • Assist in the recruitment of campaigners to ensure Teams Division is filled and trained.
  • Attend and participate in management meetings.
  • Represent the Branch as needed in the community through various groups, organizations, coalitions, etc.

Required Certifications
  1. College Degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  2. CPR, First Aid and AED certification required.
