YMCA of Bucks County seeks an inspirational Lead Teacher for our Pre-K Counts location in Morrisville, PA location. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for all lesson plans that must be submitted weekly. Lesson plans should facilitate emotional-social, intellectual/cognitive, and physical development and should include developmentally appropriate play and structured activities for different learning levels. The Lead Teacher will also be responsible for preparing for and conducting all parent-teacher conferences as well as providing supervision and guidance to the Assistant Teacher working in the classroom.

Sign-on Bonus:   $1,000.00 with Summers off with year-round salary extended!

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education - REQUIRED
  • Level one teacher certification in early childhood education is required, level two certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an early childhood setting is preferred.
  • Ability to perform First Aid/CPR/AED/Emergency Oxygen (training will be provided
  • Sound understanding of early childhood development
  • Appropriate Content Area Instructional Strategies
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills

Essential Functions
  • Create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans in accordance with the academic curriculum, working closely with the grade-level team
  • Use data to responsively teach to mastery of academic skills as per curriculum
  • Work closely with students, families, and colleagues to create an environment that is supportive of student progress
  • Reinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniques
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure all students meet the learning objectives
  • Update student performance trackers and use data to help guide your lesson plans
  • Participate in school, departmental, and parent meetings
  • Participate in school events, activities, and programs both during and outside of regular class instruction hours
