The Association Director of Membership is a results-driven sales leader who drives membership growth and retention across the YMCA of Snohomish County. This position focuses on sales strategy, activation, and engagement to grow membership and strengthen connections in every branch. The Association Director of Membership will work on-site across our branches—coaching teams, supporting sales initiatives, and building relationships that encourage retention and meaningful Y involvement. This position plays a key role in ensuring every member experiences the Y’s promise of belonging, achievement, and friendship through clear pathways to engagement in our programs and facilities.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Design and implement a comprehensive strategy aimed to transform zero-visit members into active participants.
Develop and execute retention strategies aligned with YMCA objectives.
· Lead membership growth initiatives across all branches.
· Track, analyze, and report on Membership sales and utilization metrics to assess effectiveness and adapt strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
· Maintain and expand Corporate Memberships at all branches.
· Provide training required for Customer Service and effective implementation.
Optimize activation rates across all Branches.
Regularly works on-site at branches across the county to support membership teams.
Manage time and resources effectively, including travel across YMCA branches within Snohomish County as needed.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with Membership, Health & Wellness, Family, Sports, Aquatics, and other program areas to cross-promote services and optimize member engagement, satisfaction, and program participation.
· Work with Billing Department focused on 3rd Party Pay reimbursement, Corporate Memberships and Community Partnerships.
· Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
· Serve as a member of Y management and support the overall objectives of the YMCA.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· 3 or more years of Membership experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
· YMCA Team or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
· Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
· Success and experience in Sales, preferably within membership-based, nonprofit, or health and wellness organizations.
· Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
· Experience working with individuals, families, and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
· Strong computer skills and experience with standard business software.
· Strong professional, written, and verbal communication skills.
