Job Description

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an organized and collaborative champion to provide leadership and direction to our growing sports programs as a Regional Sports Business Director. Priority for this position will be on implementing initiatives and policies to ensure consistent and highly level quality programming to members and program participants across the YMCA of Greater Richmond service area.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is preferred with a minimum of two years' experience in the sports and recreation field. Previous experience managing youth and adult sports leagues and an understanding of youth and family programming is a must. Ability to work with people in a supportive/collaborative role. Previous experience in team training with strategies in adult learning is preferred. Excellent computer skills with MS Office Suite and thorough knowledge of sports software programs.
Applicants must be able to work a varied schedule with frequent evening and weekend work.

Essential Functions

Collaborate as a part of sports business team in leading sports operations for their region. Director will create leagues, assign players and coaches, and schedule practices and games for their region, as well as lean into other regions when needed.

Provide leadership, guidance and training to full and part time staff, ensuring staff understand and are knowledgeable of association initiatives, policies, and practices.

Visit branch programs to provide feedback, guidance, and support for areas of responsibility.

Collaborate and champion program growth in youth sports by evaluating program design, delivery, and staff performance.

Assist branches in developing their youth and family programming to better serve branch communities.

Establish relationships with companies, organizations and referral networks to promote youth, family, and adult programs.

Work with Executive Director of Sports Programming to lead the budget process for all locations and products related to these programs.
