YMCA of the Fox Cities' Camp Nan A Bo Sho is hiring an Assistant Camp Director!
Job Description

As an Assistant Camp Director, you'll be involved in everything from ensuring an exceptional summer staff team is recruited, coached & developed to managing logistics and providing leadership in the development & implementation of overnight, day & off-season group camp programs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to develop relationships with campers, parents, staff, & volunteers and fostering a welcoming & inclusive atmosphere for all campers. During the non-summer seasons (about 8 months), the ACD will provide leadership-level support within our school age child care programming, utilizing your strengths and as well as aligning with career goals.

Qualifications
  • The Assistant Camp Director is required to live on-site at our Resident Camp in Lakewood, WI from early May to mid-August. The rest of the year, the position requires the ACD to live in the Fox Cities area (near Appleton, WI).
  • Bachelors degree is preferred but not required. 
  • Minimum of two (2) seasons experience working in a leadership role in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field. 
  • Possess or willing to acquire Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR/AED provided by YMCA or other certified organization (may be obtained upon hire).
  • Possess or willing to acquire the required certifications for specific program areas (Wilderness First Aid,
  • Lifeguarding, Red Cross Instructor, Challenge Course training, etc.) All may be obtained upon hire.
