Under the general direction of the Chief Operations Officer, this position is accountable for the successful administration of the branch in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines of the YMCA of Greater Tulsa Association. The Executive Director oversees the management of programs, membership, volunteer and staff recruitment and development, fundraising, and collaborations with community agencies in meeting the needs of its members and program participants. The Executive Director will work with Association Staff in consistency of programs and membership as well as innovation, strategy and management of risk.
Required:
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years YMCA exempt/professional work experience or equivalent in a related field or company
Volunteer or Staff supervision experience
Proven ability to raise funds and grow membership
Proven ability to work with a volunteer board/committee
Knowledge of the YMCA as a membership organization
Knowledge & experience in budgeting, financial development, and board / community relations.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Bilingual - English/Spanish
Current CPR/AED, First Aid, O2 Certification
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure growth in membership sales and recruitment
Responsible for budgeting, expense control, & income generation for the branch.
Oversight for all program areas within the branch.
Constant communication and work with the Association Directors to create innovative strategy.
Recruit, develop and lead volunteers and staff in raising the goal amount of the Annual Campaign
Recruit, develop and lead the board of advisors.
Recruit develop and lead program and membership staff.
Consistently communicate with property managers regarding cleanliness and safety of facility.
Facilitate communication between all departments so members are aware of all programs & opportunities available to them.
Work closely with VP of Talent and Culture to ensure programs and facility are run in a safe manner.
Work closely with COO to ensure proper marketing strategy is followed.
Coordinate scheduling so facility operates seamlessly.
Assist with annual promotion plan for all programs including flyers, brochures, website, newsletter, news releases, advertisements, etc.
Accurate and timely with all assignments, deadlines, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
High level of concentration and aptitude for learning wide variety of program information and new computer applications
Physically able to tour members inside and outside facility as needed
Physically able to lift 35+ pounds occasionally.
Physically able to sit at a computer station for extended periods of time
Ability to speak distinctly to communicate with customers and staff on the phone or in person
Patience to deal with 5 or more people at the same time
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills for dealing with daily issues in a variety of situations.
RELATIONSHIPS TO BE MAINTAINED:
Work with schools, cities, community organizations, & home builders on collaborative programs
Ongoing, lasting relationships with volunteers and staff
Leader of branch staff team

Increases involvement of volunteers.
Develops and retains capable, diverse, and active Board of Advisors, Board committees, and staff.

Achieves fundraising & membership campaign goals.
