Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director; responsible for the coordination of the organization’s communications, both internal and external. The Communications Coordinator assists the Executive Director in achieving the organization’s overall communications strategy and priorities. 15 to 20 hours of work per week expected.

Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree required
  • Must be professional, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent website administration proficiency, and graphic design capability
  • Excellent human relations, member service, and written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work on various duties and issues, and perform multiple tasks
  • Commitment to the mission of the YMCA and its capacity to promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility
Essential Functions
  • Compose press releases and promotional materials
  • Coordinate the delivery of content across the website and other online portfolios
  • Research and compose content for monthly online newsletters.
  • Assist in the coordination of the organization’s events
  • Organize logistics for Board of Directors and Committee meetings.
  • Provide necessary administrative support to the Executive Director
