Position Summary:

Oversee the total operation of an Early Learning YMCA branch, including budget, membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. Ensure a safe, positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participant safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies, practices and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Organizational Leader certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
  • Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities

  • Strong computer skills and experience with standard business software
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in second language desired

 

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate the development of the ELC branch board and committees
  • Oversee, direct and coordinate the Early Learning child care programs for assigned location(s)
  • Expand ELC program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans
  • Ensure that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with state child care licensing agency, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs
  • Oversee and be experienced in USDA and Early Achievers requirements
  • Respond to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
  • Provide staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign and committees as assigned
  • Maintain proper records/department files
  • Ensure compliance for all centers for state licensing, staff required training and best practices
  • Oversee waitlists of prospective families, enrollment and program entry. Oversee electronic program records, including collaborating with the child care billing department on account charges and changes
  • Compile Employee Benefit data monthly for association accounting department
  • Oversight of credit card, food and supply ordering
  • Direct the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the ELC branch
  • Direct the financial development activities of the ELC branch
  • Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities
  • Develop, maintain, and model collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area
  • Promote a diverse workforce; oversee the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the ELC branch operating budget and meet or exceed budget targets
  • Direct ELC branch strategic planning efforts and develop the annual operating plan of the ELC branch
  • Develop and direct high-quality relationship-based member engagement strategies
  • Model relationship-building skills in all interactions with our diverse staff, volunteers, participants, and the community
  • Foster a climate of innovation to develop early learning-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies
  • Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment
  • Direct ELC branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to
    the community
  • Serve as a member of Y management and support the overall objectives of the YMCA
  • Performs other duties as assigned

The full range of the pay grade for this position is $102,835 - $154,169.
