Senior Program Director

Oversee two dynamic YMCA departments at the senior management level!
Job Description

The Hampshire Regional YMCA is looking to fill an important role on our senior management team! The Y is a dynamic environment serving a wide variety of demographics, creating opportunities for all to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of age, income, or background. The Senior Program Director role we are looking to fill will oversee our Membership and Aquatics departments. This role will be the direct supervisor of one of those departments and the next-level supervisor for the other (applicant can choose based on experience).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, business, management, human services, or related field
  • Five years experience in a field related to Aquatics and/or Membership
  • Five years management experience required, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit
  • Knowledge of Aquatics professional standards required
  • Current lifeguard certification required or obtained within 60 days of hire
Essential Functions
  • Act as direct supervisor for either the Aquatics or Membership department (applicant can choose) which involves directly overseeing frontline staff and operations in that department. Role would also oversee a director in the second department, meaning the Senior Program Director would not be directly overseeing that department
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and coach both frontline staff and leadership staff in Aquatics and Membership departments
  • Assist in creation and implementation of programming in Aquatics and Membership departments
  • Grow membership for our YMCA as well as track and evaluate trends in membership
  • Monitor and help create budgets for Aquatics and Membership departments
  • Participate in and contribute to both the operations leadership team as well as the senior management team, which includes attending meetings, special events, strategic planning, etc.
