Offer support to membership representative (front desk) staff.

Qualifications
  1. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, First Aid, and Youth Protection training.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
    segments of the community.
  4. Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
  5. Basic knowledge of computers.
  6. Bachelors degree in Business or Marketing preferred.
Essential Functions

1. Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.  Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.

2. Process scholarship/financial aid applications in a timely manner.

3. Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises assigned staff and volunteers. Provides development and leadership.

4. Ensure proper open, close, and shift change paperwork completed by all staff.

5. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.

6. Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.

7. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

8. Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff in a clear, concise way.

9. Membership administrative tasks as follows: track joins and tours for reporting on membership retention report; manage rejected payments. Re-run payments and mail / email notices for collection of dues; manage invoices for all corporate accounts monthly.

10. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.

11. Assists in organizing special fundraising projects, including the annual and capital campaign.

12. Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership, marketing and communications; Takes appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met.

13. Serve as Manager on Duty as required.

14. Ability to process, understand and respond appropriately to emergency situations.

15. Perform any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the Walton County YMCA.
