Our Association
In 2021, the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth embarked on an ambitious five-year Vision plan, focused on expanding our reach and doubling the youth we serve. Today, with an operating budget of $30M and a team of 1,200+ staff across 15 branches, we are a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization. We celebrate the power of collaboration, with our staff and volunteers leading the way to innovate, inspire, and uplift our city. Our vision is bold: to prepare the next generation of Fort Worth’s youth to succeed, serve, and lead with confidence.

We are currently seeking a passionate, visionary District Executive Director to oversee two distinct branches in our association.

Position Overview
The District Executive will be an integral leader within our association, responsible for the performance and strategic growth of the district. Reporting to the Chief Experience Officer, this role requires a leader who is not only operationally savvy but also committed to building meaningful, lasting relationships within Fort Worth and its surrounding communities.

This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader to help the YMCA expand its reach, enhance its impact, and serve as the face of the organization in the assigned district. The District Executive will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities, from managing daily operations to cultivating philanthropic and community partnerships that will drive our mission forward.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. YMCA Leadership certification is preferred within three years of hire.
  • Experience: At least two years of successful operational management experience in a similar setting, with a successful track record of overseeing a budget of $1M+. Demonstrated experience in team management, volunteer engagement, fundraising, and community relations.
  • Skills: Strong communication, networking, and collaboration skills. Ability to build and nurture relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, and community leaders. A strategic mindset with an ability to inspire others to achieve shared goals.
Essential Functions
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the two district branches, creating and implementing a vision for growth that aligns with the broader mission of the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth. Inspire staff, volunteers, and the community to join in the Y’s mission.
  • Community Engagement: Serve as a key representative of the YMCA, fostering partnerships with local businesses, schools, governmental entities, and other organizations. Actively engage with community leaders to ensure the YMCA is meeting the diverse needs of Fort Worth's growing population.
  • Philanthropic Development: Lead the district’s philanthropic efforts, including organizing and driving the Annual Campaign, special events, and donor engagement. Cultivate relationships with new and existing donors to strengthen the financial sustainability of the branches.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of branch operations, ensuring high-quality programs, sound fiscal management, and adherence to safety standards. Each district operates with a budget of $3.0M - $5.0M, and the District Executive will be responsible for meeting or exceeding financial targets.
  • Staff Development & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of staff and volunteers to achieve their highest potential. Foster an environment that promotes innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Program Innovation: Spearhead efforts to develop programs that address community needs, ensuring the YMCA’s relevance and impact in Fort Worth. From youth development to health and wellness programs, ensure that offerings align with the Y’s mission and the needs of the local community.
  • Facilities Management: Ensure that both branches operate in safe, well-maintained facilities that support the YMCA’s reputation for excellence. Oversee the upkeep of grounds, equipment, and other resources to provide a welcoming environment for members and participants.
  • Volunteer Development: Guide the branch advisory boards, recruiting and developing volunteer leaders who are passionate about the YMCA’s mission. Empower volunteers to take on key roles in strategic planning, fundraising, and community engagement.

Required Certifications

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $90,000 - $98,000
