Job Description

The Financial Analyst contributes to the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts and provides analysis of Y-USA’s financial performance.  This position also provides direct support to internal departments and project leads for developing financial projections and analysis.
Because Y-USA is a people-driven organization, the Financial Analyst performs certain payroll-related functions to understand compensation drivers as they relate to financial projections and analysis.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required, CPA a plus
● Prior experience with non-profit/social services organizations preferred, preferably in a capacity related to financial and operational analysis
● Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an accounting or finance department 
● Proficient in Microsoft suite and related software 
● Experience in financial modeling and data analysis
● Ability to explain business results and offer solutions to those without financial training
● Proven ability to build rapport and maintain solid working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of an organization
● Strong interpersonal and customer services skills 
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and creatively solve new problems

Essential Functions
  • Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the organization and makes specific recommendation for improvement Synthesizes complex data into charts or dashboards to visually highlight key indicators
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather relevant data, align on objectives, and ensure accurate analysis and reporting
  • Prepares periodic operating and cash flow forecasts
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual operating, capital expenditure and cash flow budgets
  • Assists in the preparation and updates of financial projections for internal projects and maintains analysis of actual vs. projected results
  • Inputs payroll data as required in coordination with HR department, including review of payroll changes and transmission of multi-state payroll via ADP
  • Responsible for timely filing and remittance of all payroll tax, withholding and reporting, including Forms W-2, 941 and 990
  • Prepares confidential reporting related to pay-related transactions and supports employee inquiries about payroll deposits
  • Leads workers compensation insurance audit and unemployment trust activities  
  • Records journal entries related to payroll activities in support of month-end close
