Position Overview: As the YMCA welcomes a new CEO, we are excited to offer a dynamic opportunity for a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to elevate and professionalize our development function and drive substantial growth. This role will build on recent foundational investments to enhance our systems, structures, and team, aiming to exceed organizational goals. 1. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
2. Eight or more years of professional experience with a fundraising background in the YMCA or another non-profit preferred, with at least two years in a leadership role.
3. Ability to relate to top community leaders and diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
4. Strong working knowledge of giving and charitable vehicles.
5. Ability to create interpretive materials to enable potential donors to understand the YMCA and how they contribute to the achievement of its mission.
6. Strong experience developing institutional funding partnerships, including with philanthropic organizations and government/public grantors.
7. CFRE or equivalent preferred; YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.
