Camp Grady Spruce YMCA, located on beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake approximately 120 miles west of Dallas, is a residential camp that covers 860 acres of land.
Job Description

This role will live on-site, coordinating our Outdoor Education programs. This role will also oversee the staffing, programming, health and safety, marketing, and business services of the Outdoor Education programs. 

 

The Program Director is entrusted with the development and implementation of the comprehensive plan for the Camp Grady Spruce outdoor education program. This role encompasses full accountability for all facets of camp operation, including staffing, programming, health and safety, and the strategic management of marketing and business aspects.

 1. Budget Management:

      • Develop and meticulously monitor a $1M budget to ensure it aligns with or surpasses expectations for the branch's financial status.

 2. Residential Role:

      • Reside on-site and assume the responsibility of responding promptly to the needs of guests and staff, maintaining a 24-hour presence during programs.

 3. Collaborative Support:

      • Collaborate with other team members to provide assistance and support across various camp operations as required.

4. Volunteer Engagement:

      • Offer support to volunteers, particularly during the annual Partner’s Campaign and other campaign-related initiatives.

 

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in outdoor education program development and management.
  • Strong financial acumen, with a track record of budget development and monitoring.
  • Ability to live on-site and respond to camp-related matters 24/7 during programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset, willing to assist in various camp operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective support to volunteers during campaigns.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of the organization.
