Job Description

Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Operating Officer of the New Rochelle YMCA the Accounts Bookkeeper shall maintain a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and coordinates intermediate level accounting functions such as general ledger/account maintenance, account reconciliation, data processing and reporting. Also, the Accounts Bookkeeper shall assist in the development and implementation of talent management/human resources policies and payroll processing. This is a full-time position with an estimated range of forty hours per week of work. This is a position requires you to be onsite with one day that may be possible remote work pending supervisor(s) approval dependent on programmatic needs.

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or 2 year Associates Degree in business
  • Experience working with YMCA or Non-Profit organizations preferred
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks a must
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience processing accounts receivables, accounts payables, completing bank reconciliations, enter journal entries as needed, including bi-weekly payroll
  • Must have advanced MS Excel skills and highly organized
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Essential Functions

1.     Perform daily recording of vendor invoices and be lead liaison with all vendor relationships.

2.     Overview of Accounts Receivable (Child care agency subsidies, Facility Rentals, etc.)

3.     Overview of Facility rental contracts

4.     Process returned checks and drafts in Membership Revenue system, (Daxko).

5.     Maintain detail expense records and assist in ordering facility, programming and front office supplies.

6.     Perform quarterly Worker’s Compensation and PFL/DBL audits.

7.     Record bi-weekly payroll and reconcile GL to ADP quarterly reports.

8.     Maintain fixed assets and insurance schedules.

9.     Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

10.  Assist with month end and year end closings.

11.  Organize resources and deliverables to best meet intended goals and outcomes.

12.  Respond to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner.

13.  Process new hires, including creating employee profiles in ADP.

14.  Process bi-weekly payroll for organization.
