Responsible for processing, management, and delivery of payroll, including recordkeeping, reporting and administration of employee benefits.
Job Description

Responsible for timely and accurate processing, management, and delivery of payroll and related client services, including recordkeeping and reporting, and administration of certain employee benefits. Manages the activities associated with a semi-monthly payroll that is processed within a centralized internal payroll department. Assist with the administration of contracts, benefits and other financial matters as needed for the Association. This position is responsible for providing transactional support for the human resources department including collecting, organizing, reviewing, data entry, reporting and HRIS system management while enforcing company policies and practices.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • 2 years of experience processing payroll for 1000+ employees preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Microsoft Office suite and Payroll and/or Accounting systems experience.
  • Expert knowledge of DOL state, local, and government payroll regulations to include those associated with garnishments, deductions, and taxes.
Essential Functions
  • Manage all aspects of Payroll.
  • Compile payroll data, process employee changes, perform data entry, and audit the accuracy of payroll information and data.
  • Review and resolve payroll issues, identify pay adjustments, process and manage garnishments, perform wage calculations and prorating for special payments.
  • Perform quarterly and year-end processing and reconciliation and participate in the completion of internal and external payroll tax and accounting audits.
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll through balancing and auditing prior to submission and complete special projects as assigned.
  • Make changes to employee data in the HRIS system including merit increases, compensation, and status changes.
  • Review, process background screening and approve new hire paperwork. Input new/rehires and clearances into HRIS system as assigned.
  • Remain apprised of developments in the payroll field to ensure accuracy and continual compliance with changing rules and regulations affecting payroll.
  • Manage time and attendance payroll module.
  • Manage vendor transactions and assigned employee benefits including flexible spending, 403b, etc.
  • Research and resolve problems, perform scheduled activities and troubleshooting, and liaison with service providers.
  • Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist with the administration and management of contracts and benefits as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
