Sr Program Director

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a talented individual to join our team as the Sr. Program Director of Aquatics and Other Communities.
Job Description

The Sr. Director will manage, lead and direct the Aquatics Department ensuring safe and efficient operations, including two contract pools seasonally. The Sr. Director is responsible for youth programing in nearby communities, including fun bus enrichments.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit, hire and train aquatics staff
  • Manage annual budget
  • Provide hands on duties as required ie: Pool Manager, Head Guard, Swim Instructor, Swim Coach and Water Fitness Instructor
  • Assist with scheduling of private lessons, group lessons and staff schedules
  • Assist with all other administrative tasks for the department
  • Ensure swim lessons are being run per associations best practices
  • Assist with developing and implementing new quality programming
  • Build relationships with parents, members and guests
  • Promote Taylor programming through fun bus activities
  • Actively engage Taylor community leaders to promote YMCA initiatives
  • Act as point of contact for fun bus activities and provide all items necessary to ensure program runs smoothly. i.e. food, drinks, activities, prizes, staff and transportation if needed
  • Creation and implementation of annual schedule for activities
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); College degree preferred
  • Minimum six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certifications required
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer or YMCA Lifeguard Trainer required
  • Water Safety Instructor or YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor preferred
