Vice President of Properties

The Gateway Region YMCA is seeking a motivated individual for their Vice President of Properties position.
Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through

youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the President, the Vice

President of Property Management is responsible for the management of the Association’s properties, grounds

and other assets. This position will also provide direct leadership to the maintenance and development of the

Association’s facility and property assets. Duties will be performed in accordance with the policies, procedures,

and standards established by the Corporate Office and will exemplify the Y values of caring, honesty, respect,

responsibility and faith.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management, engineering (construction or mechanical), another related field or equivalent
  • Ten or more years’ experience in a related leadership role
  • Current license to drive with record to meet YMCA standards
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
  • Proven, successful experience in facility management, budget management, supervision and controlling the maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • The incumbent must have a broad base of knowledge and experience in facility mechanical procedures.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to work with the building trades and the ability to consult with staff, contractors and laymen.
  • This position must also develop training programs for building staff and develop short and long-range plans.
  • A minimum of two years new construction and be able to advise on such items.
  • The incumbent must possess knowledge of the YMCA as a lay/staff partnership and possess the necessary human relations skills to work with corporate staff, branch staff, lay leadership and outside vendors. 
Essential Functions
  • Provide fiscal oversight for property related endeavors.
  • Complete over $20M in active capital projects. 
  • Positively manage property related contracts and negotiations.
  • Positively manager property related contracts and negotiations to serve the Y’s best interests.
  • Ensure property department provides quality service to the association.
  • Uphold YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
