Job Description

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a full-time fitness leader who balances energy and acumen with great people skills for our Lafayette YMCA.

The Y's Program Director of Health and Wellness in Lafayette will manage our growing wellness offerings, with a focus on day-to-day operations of the branch Health & Wellness program areas (i.e., Personal Training, Group Exercise, Active Older Adult (AOA), Wellness Floor and Fitness Consultations). This management-level position ensures that our programs and staff meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our strong-minded, strong-bodied members and community. You will also work closely with the Executive Director to develop strategies to increase established revenue goals, member retention and engagement.

The Program Director for Health and Wellness will:

  • Direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. This includes creating, implementing and scheduling health and wellness programs and classes, as well as teaching classes as needed.
  • Hire, train, develop, motivate, and direct personnel and volunteers.
  • Establish new program activities and expand programs within the community.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Assist in program budget development and controls.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
  • Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Assist with Branch Council meetings.
  • Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the participation and effectiveness of programs.

Salary Range: $55,000. This position is year-round, full-time exempt.

All Employees receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund.

Full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 3 weeks of paid vacation, 88 hours of paid sick time, and 8 paid holidays per year. Free YMCA programs include: after-school programs, Camp NOCO traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate, and swim lessons. Discounted YMCA programs include: preschool, YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, and specialty summer camps. The Y offers generous medical, dental, and vision benefits. We provide long-term disability and life insurance at no cost to full-time employees.

Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of exercise science or related.
  • Minimum age requirements of 21.
  • Minimum 2-years of experience in H&F, staff supervision and budget responsibilities.
  • Current certifications to teach group exercise classes and personal training.
  • CPR/First Aid and BBP will be required within 30 days of hire and will need to be maintained
