Full-Time Finance Director position with benefits.
Job Description

The Finance Director at the Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and coordinates accounting functions such as general ledger/account maintenance, account reconciliation, data processing and reporting.

Qualifications

1.    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.

2.    Three years of experience or more in a bookkeeping, and/or accounting role.

3.    Knowledge of banks, banking systems and cash management.

4.    Knowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting and payroll systems.

5.    Ability to develop and use spreadsheets and standard business software systems.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains an accounting system to accomplish the proper recording and reporting of all operations, transactions, assets, and liabilities of the YMCA for all funds.
  • Serves as a resource person to management and program personnel in all matters relating to accounting.
  • Responsible for biweekly payroll, accounts payable, processing expense reports and business credit card reconciliations.
  • Ensures proper revenue recognition and accounting in accordance with GAAP. 
  • Prepares monthly financial statements required by management, the Board, and outside agencies.
  • Maintains and tracks contracts, invoices, payments, and insurance policy information.
  • Prepares for annual independent audit.
  • Maintains records and prepares various internal and external reports, including reports for various federal and state agencies.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Retirement contributions [10% shared—4% employee; 6% YMCA], vacation plan, health plan and other benefits per personnel policy.

Required Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field 

Three years of experience or more in a bookkeeping, and/or accounting role.
