Job Description

YMCA of Greater Houston’s Senior Program Director of Quality, supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position will lead the department's focus on curriculum design, grant management and special initiatives to elevate the program quality of afterschool and day camp programs throughout the Greater Houston area.  The Senior Program Director, Quality will ensure a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while inspiring youth to discover their passions.  

The Senior Program Director, Quality will be responsible for being knowledgeable of out of school time research, best practices and trends.  The position will drive the department’s program innovation and quality by leading curriculum design and implementation, supporting grant-funded projects and special initiatives as well as assist in developing frontline staff development pathways. The position will collaborate with the OST Operations team, internal and external partners to lead the implementation of new programs, partnerships, and initiatives that align with organizational priorities to strengthen youth development’s program quality and expand offerings.  

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
  2. Four or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency. 
  3. Knowledge and experience working in out of school time programming
  4. Expertise in staff development, curriculum design, quality compliance, and/or grant management
  1. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage complex systems with superior technical and project management skills is required.
  2. Must possess excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and be able to comply with all administrative
  3. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required.
  4. Demonstrated experience in engaging multiple stakeholders, facilitating, coaching, mentoring is required.
  5. Excellent time management skills, initiative, and the ability to take
  6. Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve objectives is
  7. YMCA Multi-Team or Center Leader certification preferred.
  8. CPR and First Aid certifications as well as YMCA Compliance training required.
  9. Fulfillment of state/licensing-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program-specific certifications. 
Essential Functions
  1. Leadership: Lead the curriculum & program design, development, and implementation of out of school time programs in support of the Association’s mission, vision, goals, and strategic initiatives for youth development programs.
  2. Program Quality: Provides guidance and leadership in instruction and curriculum planning and evaluation.
  3. Financial Development: Work with fund development department to provide case statements and impact reports, as well as assist in identifying new funding sources to new initiatives
  4. Fiscal Management: Develops, manages, and monitors the overall operating budget to meet and/or exceed budget targets.
  5. Strategic Partnerships: Represent the organization on local, state, and national levels to expand the YMCA brand and establish our expertise and credibility in youth development. Develop positive relationships, promote the YMCA in the local community, and develop positive working relationships with community partners and education experts.
  6. Philanthropy Support: Assist in the identification, development, management and reporting of grant programs, in collaboration with Philanthropy department
  7. Relationship Building: Develops and maintains relationships with Association and center leadership, and other YMCA departments in order to maximize and leverage resources across all youth serving departments.
  8. Program Incubation: Lead and implement new program initiatives
  9. Represents the YMCA of Greater Houston at local and national conferences related to out of school time programming.
  10. Serves as a member of the leadership round table, support the overall objectives of the Y.
  11. Coordinates all volunteer opportunities, to further advance the Y mission and add greater value to our programs.
  12. Provide association-wide leadership to assigned specialty areas.
  13. Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  14. Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
  15. Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Example includes but are not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
