Job Description

A YMCA Center for Healthy Living Program Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the YMCA’s evidence health-based interventions as well as grant funded programs, including but not limited to the health equity tour, mitigation tour, and other statewide initiatives. This position requires travel at least monthly throughout Pennsylvania and is a grant funded role.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 5 years of community building experience is desired and/or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
2. Minimum of at least 1 year of Supervisory Experience.
3. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
4. Ability to build strong relationships, inspire confidence, and work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
5. Understands the YMCA Mission and purpose as a cause-driven movement. Prefer knowledge and experience in YMCA programs, including EBHIs.
6. Demonstrated competencies in the areas of staff development, relationship building skills, communication skills, conflict resolution, and resource development.
7. Knowledge of fitness trends in the health and wellness community. Awareness of immunization efforts through the state as well.

Essential Functions
  • Direct, implement, promote and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the Pennsylvania community and fulfill YMCA healthy initiatives objectives statewide.
  • Provide support and guidance to coaches, instructors, and staff to ensure the program achieves quality performance outcomes.
  • Development and implementation of the organization’s HIPAA and Fraud and Abuse compliance policies and procedures (“Compliance Program”).
  • Perform ongoing compliance monitoring activities, including audits on an annual basis and as needed.
  • Serve as liaison to the Pennsylvania State Alliance of YMCAs as well as ambassador and advocate for programs with the public health and physician communities.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with public health, physician communities and other referral networks to enhance awareness of programs and increase referrals.
  • Serve as liaison to YUSA for evidence-based chronic disease program requirements, reporting and National Compliance for impending insurance coverage.
  • Respond to inquiries from the general public and members of public health & physician communities about programs.
  • Develop, grow and maintain corporate/direct and insurance payor relationships for referrals and onsite programming.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed. Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Organize instructor trainings and support coaches in implementing programs.
  • Recruit, screen and register eligible participants into programs.
  • Assist with retention and commitment of program participants.
  • Compile program statistics. Regularly analyze data to ensure it meets quality performance standards.
  • Develop and monitor program budget(s) to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Participate, organize, and run any meetings as it relates to objective within grant and program requirements.
  • Create, organize, and maintain events statewide.
  • Monitor daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
  • Attend required abuse risk management training.
  • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
