Job Description

The Hampshire Regional YMCA is looking for a Development Director to join our community-oriented organization! The Y is committed to promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all, regardless of age, income, or background. TheDevelopment Director is responsible for executing, managing, and monitoring our fund development efforts. The qualified candidate will demonstrate a keen understanding of the YMCA’s mission and the ability to articulate the Y’s offerings to a diverse audience of members, donors, and volunteers. 

  • Minimum Associates degree in development, management, public relations or related field and/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in fund development
  • Experience with philanthropy, capital, and annual scholarship campaigns
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and exhibit the ability to lead through influence
  • YMCA awareness or experience preferred
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be highly organized and can work with confidential matters
Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team and directors to lead the implementation of detailed special event and grant development strategies aligned with developing financial resources
  • Work with staff, board and volunteers to develop and implement the annual campaign and all other fund development campaigns
  • Develop, implement and lead the coordination of all special events with a hands-on approach
  • Coordinate and implement grant research, development, writing and reporting
  • Attend meetings with partners and staff to support fund development goals
  • Develop and implement the Capital and Planned Giving Supports efforts to manage development data to maximize its impact
