NATURE AND SCOPE: 

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Youth Development Coordinator Coordinator will provide hands-on support for the successful operations of various programs, such as Day Camp, After School and play center, and teen/family programs.  They will support practices, processes, and procedures for strong program and project management. 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in education, child development, or related field OR High school diploma and 1+ years of youth development experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to recognize and implement safety standards in all program activities
  • Strong Human Relations and Conflict Management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and manage information to program participants, community leaders, and volunteers and staff of all ages
  • Proficient knowledge of computers, various technology, and applications
  • Ability to multitasks, work independently, problem solve and effectively manage time
  • Must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire, completion of CPR, First Aid, and AED training 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in education, child development, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in youth development
  • Non-profit experience
  • Working knowledge of BFTS, Quality Rated 

Employment Requirement: 

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening and motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company policy.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
Essential Functions
  • Support operating plans to promote program growth, program impact and safety for the YMCA.  
  • Work cooperatively with professional staff and other program and school staff.
  • Assure compliance with state and local regulations. 
  • Maintain accurate program documentation (files, reports, rosters, health records, etc.)
  • Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. 
  • May review and process program scholarship applications.
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all participants.
  • Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Registration, tuition billing and payment processing, including collections.
  • Conduct tour and can effectively communicate all aspects of the program.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of the center tuition daily/weekly and generate reports according to company guidelines.
  • Must follow BFTS, Quality Rated, and YMCA of Metro Atlanta rules and regulations.
  • Consult with the Director on concerns related to student’s development or behavior. Document parent communication to ensure open communication with Director.
  • Provide supervision of site in conjunction with and in the absence of the program and ensure parent communication, discipline, supervision of staff at site, and prompt decision making.
  • Check, track, and report attendance each morning to the Director for After school programming.
  • Maintain facility compliance in accordance with Bright from the Start and Metro Atlanta YMCA guidelines by conducting weekly facility check. Document and report on facilities and to the Director any equipment that needs repair and/or replacement.
  • Attends required trainings related to the scope of work.
  • Maintain and report incident/accident paperwork according to the BFTS and Metro Atlanta YMCA.
