Under the support of the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA the Camp Rocky Creek Director position is the perfect opportunity to continue to expand your leadership skills, showcase your creativity and continue to grow professionally, while expanding our camp program.

We are a smaller YMCA day and residential camp that serves approximately 125 kids weekly throughout the summer. We have the potential to grow our numbers and are looking for the right person to help us do just that.  During the shoulder seasons, the camp works with local schools and outside groups for field trips and spring and fall camp rentals.

This position is in cahrge of the daily operations of our summer day camp and residential camp located in Cornwall, Pennsylvania.  The Camp Director oversees a full-time program director and approximately 30-35 seasonal staff. Must have at least served as a residential camp director for 4+ years, working at an ACA accredited camp.  Seasonal housing is available. 

  • Strong verbal, written, leadership, interpersonal, organizational skills essential
  •  Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and projects
  •  Ability to work with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds
  •  Experience supervising and managing staff
  •  Adept at working well tight deadlines with an ability to shift priorities as needed
  •  Skill and ability to problem-solve and effectively lead others through problem resolution
  •  Comfortable working in varying outdoor settings, locations, weather, temperatures, and conditions
  •  Current, or willingness to obtain, lifeguard, challenge course or related certifications
  •  Incumbent must have a clean driving record, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
  •  Ability to lift 30 pounds
  •  Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time
  •  Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Education:
Essential Functions
  • The incumbent will develop camp curricula and assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of camp
  • Prioritization of campers' safety, while ensuring an excellent camp experience is the primary responsibility of this position
  • The incumbent hires all seasonal staff necessary to carry out the day-to-day operations residential and  summer camps
  • The incumbent will also ensure conformity with American Camping Association accreditation standards, state Youth Camp Regulations and YMCA policies and procedures while assisting in the preparation and implementation of standards as necessary
  • The Camp Director will aid in the creation of a preliminary annual budget and manage the allocated budget
