YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties is looking to hire an Aquatics Specialist on a full time basis in our Flemington NJ location.
Job Description
  • Coordinate the private swim lesson program.
  • Serves as the connection point between youth swim lessons and the competitive swim team.
  • Lead and instruct swim lessons, and through these efforts, prepare and transition qualified swimmers to the swim team.
  • Coach a designated swim team group.
  • Serve on the summer camp leadership team, preparing swim instructors, lifeguards and day camp staff for serving our day camp youth.
  • Under the direction of the director and associate director of aquatics, assist in all aspects of day-to-day operations of the aquatics department. This includes lifeguarding, hiring, training, and supervision of the lifeguard and swim instruction team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred. Preferred majors: Youth Development, Teaching, Psychology, Sports Management, Physical Education or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of competitive swimming coach experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of swim lesson experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in staff supervision.
  • Knowledge of current YMCA or Red Cross preschool, youth and adult curriculum, trends and teaching design preferred.
  • Certification in CPR/AED for Adults, Children and Infants and First Aid.(Posses or obtains in 1 month)
  • Lifeguard certification (Posses or obtains in 1 month)
  • Obtains YMCA/ USA coaching certification within 3 months
