Gymnastics/Ninja Coordinator

The Granite YMCA has an opening for an innovative and energetic Gymnastics Coordinator as part of our department leadership team.
Job Description

This position is responsible for the support and delivery of safe, educational and enjoyable gymnastics and ninja classes, team and camp experiences to participants of a variety of ages and ability levels.  Under the supervision of the Gymnastics Director and Associate Director, the Coordinator must be able to implement and lead a progressive gymnastic program, build positive relationships with youth, family members and other staff, and support department administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications
  • 2 years or more of prior experience working with youth 
  • 3 years or more of prior gymnastics and Ninja training and/or coaching experience 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents and staff members 
  • Able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
  • Proficient use of tablets and computers including Microsoft Windows and Office
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for direct program implementation, maintains a safe environment and effectively teaches age-appropriate safety and skills during programs 
  • Assist with the competitive team including practices and meets 
  • Support the development of the Ninja program area including recommendations/setup for obstacle courses
  • Serve as Assistant Gymnastics Camp Director and attend required pre-camp trainings
  • Assist in onboarding, training and development of Gymnastics Camp employees as needed
  • Participate in and support staff meetings with Gymnastics Department, contribute to areas such as Instruction and Camp
  • Assure effective communication to the youth and families of the relevant program areas
  • Assist in coordination of the Fun Meet, Preschool Gymnastics Exhibition, & Ninja Challenge Event
  • Assist with coordination and scheduling of birthday parties, rentals and special events
