The HR Generalist is a key member of the People and Culture Department. Responsibilities include staffing and retention, new hire orientation, employee relations, workers’ compensation / OSHA, training and development and employee communications, among others. Develops strong working relationship with members of the People and Culture Team and YMCA leaders. Reinforces our department’s position as a trusted, credible partner to those we serve within the Y.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HR Generalist has no direct reports so the ability to develop relationships and inspire others through influence and collaboration is crucial.
Mission Advancement: Reinforces the Y’s values within the organization and the community. Effectively communicates the benefits and impact of the YMCA’s efforts for all stakeholders. Implements effective systems to develop volunteers at program, fundraising, and policy leadership levels. Secures resources and support for all philanthropic endeavors.

Builds and nurtures strategic relationships both within the branch and with community partners to enhance support for the work of the YMCA. Creates a learning environment that supports and promotes the acquisition, application, and sharing of new knowledge. Guides others on how to strengthen knowledge, skills, and competencies that improve organizational performance. Develops the feedback and coaching skills of others. Engages in and champions ongoing feedback, coaching, and opportunities for informal and formal learning at all levels
