Job Description

The YMCA is hiring a Facilities Superintendent for the Loveland YMCA Branch (set to open in early 2024). This position Directs the maintenance and improvement operations of YMCA facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance and related budgets.

Salary range from $18-24/hour. Position is full-time, year-round paid hourly with benefits.

All Employees receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund.

Full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 3 weeks of paid vacation, 88 hours of paid sick time, and 8 paid holidays per year. Free YMCA programs include: after-school programs, Camp NOCO traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate, and swim lessons. Discounted YMCA programs include: preschool, YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, and specialty summer camps. The Y offers generous medical, dental, and vision benefits. Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

Qualifications
  1. College degree or 1 to 2 years equivalent job-related experience with additional relevant trainings or certifications.
  2. Current/valid driver's license and MVR to meet standard driver qualifications for YMCA.
  3. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
  4. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
  5. Familiarity with personal computers helpful.
  6. Strong communication and human relations skills.
  7. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  8. Preferred CPO, Certified Pool Operator certification.
Essential Functions
  • Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
  • Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.
  • Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.
  • Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  • Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs assigned staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
  • Participates with other members of management in the YMCA's fundraising campaign.
  • Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
  • Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
  • Updates facility plans periodically. May develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA's strategic plan and community needs.
  • Participates in required Manager On Duty shifts.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
