JOB DESCRIPTION
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth impacts lives every day. We are a leading non-profit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Membership Director will be responsible for leading the member services department for the Ryan Family YMCA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff and will take on the responsibility to initiate membership services and engagement, welcome center procedures, membership campaigns, membership development, membership retention, branch marketing efforts, and coordinate schedules for Membership and Playhouse staff. The position is for a self-directed, innovative and creative person. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality programs, combined with the ability to manage the administrative components of the job. Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to ensure that members have a high quality experience at the Y.

The Ryan Family YMCA was built in 1994 with significant funding from the Ryan Foundation, the Ryan Family YMCA was expanded in 2005 to a 30,000 square foot facility including wellness spaces, studios, child care area, teen area, and an outdoor waterpark. In partnership with Crowley ISD, a new Natatorium (Opened Summer 2023) provides greater access to competitive and non-competitive water activities for all ages, including high school swim teams. With 1600+ membership units and 5000+ members, the Ryan Family YMCA is looking to grow and expand in the community. It is a requirement that the candidate lives in the community that the Ryan Family YMCA serves.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience (or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Program).
  • One to two years of related experience in a supervisory role preferred.

EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

  • High energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
  • The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring budgets, developing and marketing programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising.
  • This leader will also need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.
Essential Functions
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Grow membership accordance with operating plans.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Leads the branch marketing efforts and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.
  • Works with diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure "For All" in our communities and staffing.
  • Develops and monitors department and program budget to meet fiscal objectives. Leads membership and playhouse staff to proactively engage members in the Y through member engagment initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and coordinates for the Y to be present at community events, such as health fairs.
  • Manages use of facilities for program activities and special events.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquires and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of participation in programs.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Woth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates.

The yearly salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidates experience.
